This book presents a comprehensive course of quantum mechanics for undergraduate and graduate students. After a brief outline of the innovative ideas that lead up to the quantum theory, the book reviews properties of the Schrödinger equation, the quantization phenomena and the physical meaning of wave functions. The book discusses, in a direct and intelligible style, topics of the standard quantum formalism like the dynamical operators and their expected values, the Heisenberg and matrix representation, the approximate methods, the Dirac notation, harmonic oscillator, angular momentum and hydrogen atom, the spin-field and spin-orbit interactions, identical particles and Bose-Einstein condensation etc. Special emphasis is devoted to study the tunneling phenomena, transmission coefficients, phase coherence, energy levels splitting and related phenomena, of interest for quantum devices and heterostructures. The discussion of these problems and the WKB approximation is done using the transfer matrix method, introduced at a tutorial level. This book is a textbook for upper undergraduate physics and electronic engineering students.

This book introduces the fundamental quantum physics of atoms and molecules. Divided into three parts, the first provides a historical perspective leading to the contemporary view of atomic and molecular physics, outlining the principles of non-relativistic quantum mechanics. Part 1: Fundamentals of light-matter interaction This part compiles the basic elements of classical electromagnetic wave theory, non-relativistic quantum mechanics of the two-level system and its interaction with the non-quantized radiation field. The relevant relations with their approximations and range of validity are discussed. It.

Physics Fundamentals Semester 1. Semester 1 of physics is the study of mechanics, which involves motion and its causes. After reviewing the mathematical skills needed for this study, you will be introduced to vectors, learning how to express quantities including direction and how to deal with vectors in calculations.

From the reviews: “The book under review is a lecture on quantum physics for undergraduate students. It covers the most important basic notions and technics in this field with a reasonable degree of mathematical complexity.

this is a good introduction of the quantum theory for undergraduate students and a useful reference for graduate students or scientists from Author: Pedro Pereyra. Quantum entanglement (QE) is undoubtedly one of the most, if not the most, mysterious and yet most promising subjects of current physics.

With applications in cryptographic space-to-space, space-to-earth, and fibre communications, in addition to teleportation and quantum computing, QE goes beyond fascination and into the pragmatic spheres of commerce and the military.

Fundamentals of Quantum Mechanics, Third Edition is a clear and detailed introduction to quantum mechanics and its applications in chemistry and physics.
